The reality about why you’re not who you want to be

the reality about why you're not who you want to beEvery single day, you’re the result of what you did on the days, years, and eventually decades prior. You know this logically, but you haven’t accepted it as fact. The good news is, that you can start turning yourself into who you want to be based on what you decide to do today.

Everything is a choice:

  • the food you eat
  • the books you read
  • the movies you watch
  • the meme pages you follow
  • the hours lost to the void
  • prank videos or skill acquisition

Autopilot is a choice.

It can be corrected through conscious awareness and self-examination.

Positive, conscious decisions compound quickly and help you become the person you want to be.

As Socrates said, “The examined life is not worth living.”

Life rarely goes as planned. Mine hasn’t, and if you’re young or old – yours probably won’t either.

You will have setbacks, minor or serious problems, failed opportunities, broken hearts and more.

The key is to accept them and head in the direction you want to go *anyways*

Set massive lifetime goals and crush your daily tasks to move closer to them.

The odds of being in the top 1% are against you, and envisioning who you’ll be in 20-30 years can feel impossible.

But don’t let that stop you. Do the work every day anyway.

Do it in a way that each day is enjoyable.

Each day is a ritual and a victory.

It won’t always be fun, and you might not ever reach the end, but you will find yourself enjoying what you’re doing along the way.

try to find a way to enjoy yourselfSmall chunking victories matter.

They’re why we:

  • Make the bed ∙ Clean our room
  • Do the dishes
  • Drink one glass of water
  • Start with small dietary changes
  • Show up to the gym just to show up
  • Acts for others that don’t directly benefit us

If you can measure each day as a small victory, it’s impossible not to move towards that huge goal. Success is not based on one thing, but a culmination of small victories that lead you to the person you’re destined to become.

Zoom out, breathe deep – and try to find a way to enjoy yourself.
